The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America is the World's Largest Fitness and TeleFitness® Educator™. Founded in 1983, AFAA has certified more than 150,000 instructors from 73 countries. Led by a distinguished group of health and fitness advisors, AFAA produces a wide variety of educational materials, including American Fitness Magazine, textbooks, reference manuals, and videos. Each Year, AFAA produces over 2500 educational workshops.
Since 1983, fitness professionals from over 73 countries around the world have participated in AFAA educational programs. Many of these professionals have gone on to become educational consultants to AFAA, leading AFAA workshops in their own countries. AFAA primary certification materials, including the study guide, Basic Exercise Standards and Guidelines, and written examination are available in Danish (study guide only), Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean (exam only), Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, and Thai.
